na ten dzien planowalysmy walesanie sie po slynnych plazach znajdujacych sie w poludniowej czesci harris'a, przeprawe promem oraz odkrywanie wyspy  polnocny uist. niestety dzien przywital nas ulewa. coprawda pojechalysmy do luskentyre, ale jako ze nie tylko padalo to do tego wlasnie byla 'pelnia przyplywu' i stwierdzilysmy ze nie warto.. i pojechalysmy dalej. kolejna slynna plaza, scarista powitala nas mila tecza :) jako ze planowalysmy pochodzic, co sie nie udalo niestety, do leverburgh'a dojechalysmy duzo przed czasem i spedzilysmy tam dobrze ponad godzine czekajac na prom. bea byla zmarznieta wiec postanowila posiedziec w samochodzie podczas gdy ja poszlam popatrzec 'tu i tam'. leverburgh jest malowniczo polozony i generalnie wioska sklada sie z: przystani promowej, kilku domow (6 z nich pokrytych blacha falista!!!), 1-pompowej stacji paliw, kafejki w autobusie, sklepu, 2 kafejek -oczywiscie otwartych tylko 'w sezonie'..

TRIP TO OUTER HEBRIDES, DAY 3

SOUTH HARRIS

our plans for that day were great- we were to visit some of the most famous hebridean beaches, then cross and explore north uist. unfortunately, the day greeted us with rain.. and although we actually drove to luskentyre - we didnt manage to walk on the beach as it was raining heavily and the tide was high. instead we drove further south, to scarista, and here we witnesses some blue sky and a rainbow. because we planned to have some walks on those beaches and we didnt manage to have any, we arrived to levenburgh much much much too early for the crossing. beata was a wee bit cold so she decided to just stay in the car, but i went for a stroll 'here-and-there'. leverburgh is a very picturesque place. in general the village includes: 1 harbour, couple of houses (6 of which are covered in aluminium, reminds me of iceland..), 1-pomp petrol station, bus-take-away, 1 shop, 2 cafes- opened only in high season...

to mi przypomina, kiedy juz wjechalysmy na prom, po kilku minutach poproszono wszystkich kierowcow aby zeszli na dolny poklad by poprzestawiac samochody, gdyz w ostatniej chwili przyjechala ciezarowka i nie mogla sie zmiescic. zeszlam do samochodu, wsiadlam, opuscilam szybe i podszedl do mnie facet z obslugi promu i w pieknym lokalnym gaelickim poprosil mnie o przeparkowanie samochodu. ja szeroko otworzylam oczy ze zdumienia i popatrzylam na niego, po czym on szeroko otworzyl oczy ze zdumienia i z usmiechem powiedzial 'co, nie mowisz w gaelickim?????'   :)

that reminds me of a funny situation on the ferry. we drove in and went up to the lounge deck. after couple of minutes drivers were asked to come to the lower deck to re-park the cars as there was a last-minute lorry which wouldnt fit in. i got into the car, lowered driver's window and waited for a ferry service guy to come and direct me to a new space. then the guy came and spoke to me in the purest local gaelic (asking to repark, apparently). with my eyes wide open i looked at him, then he -with his eyes wide open and smiling face said 'hmm, no gaelic!?!?!?!'  :)
