chasing autumn in perthshire

just before storm ophelia hit scotland and suddenly bared trees of leaves :)

i don't think i've ever seen the hermitage this busy- both car parks were full, there was a bus of asian tourists and the crowds of photographers were just overwhelming. seriously, i mean it, to the state where photographers queued to the 'best spots' to take the classic, long exposure shots (and some were rather unhappy about sharing the spot!)

but apart from the crowds, the hermitage was just as usual- fantastic place for a walk and atmospheric autumn shots :) and for a nice walk amongst some of UK's highest and oldest trees

and a very pleasant surprise, when i was photographing the bridge, somebody came over to me and they actually recognised me from this blog :) a very very nice surprise, indeed :)

kilka dni przed wielkimi wiatrami ktore przyniosla ze soba ophelia, tuz zanim ogolocola drzewa z kolorowych lisci :)

chyba jeszcze nigdy nie widzialam tylu ludzi w the mermitage, oba parkingi byly pelne, byl autobus chinskich turystow i tlumy fotografow.

serio, takie tlumy az trzeba bylo stac w kolejce by rozlozyc statyw i strzelic fotke z jednego z 'klasycznych' punktow (niektorzy byli nawet bardzo niezadololeni na prospekt dzielenia sie miejscowka)

ale pomijajac ilosc zwiedzajacych, hermitage byl jak zawsze - piekny, malowniczy i doskonaly na jesienne fotki oraz spacer wsrod jednych z najwyzszych i najstarszych drzew w UK

PITLOCHRY TO LOCH RANNOCH RIDE

this route has been on my mind for some time now :)

originally i planned pitlochry to rannoch station and back, circular around both lochs: loch tummel and loch rannoch, but this route comes to 120km /80m and i dont think i would be ready for a hilly ride of this length anytime soon. as per 'web' elevation gained on the full route is over 9000ft (because of the mighty schiehallion)

anyway, i believe this was my most hilly cycling day to date.

juz jakis czas ta trasa chodzila mi po glowie :)

oryginalnie planowalam jechac z pitlochry az do stacji kolejowej rannoch (i spowrotem) ale taka trasa ma okolo 120km, a nie sadze ze jestem gotowa na takie gorzaste 120km..nie, na pewno nie jestem gotowa. 'internet' mowi ze jesli dodamy podjazdy z calej trasy -pitlochry do rannoch station i spowrotem po drugiej stronie jezior, to wychodzi 9000ft (3000m), no owszem jest gora dol gora dol i gora dol... no i jeszcze droga idzie zboczem gory schiehallion..

w kazdym razie pierwsze koty za ploty, narazie byla to nasza najbardziej 'gorzysta' trasa

how nice is it was to cycle all the way up to the viewpoint and hear people praising our fitness hahaha i wish! but still it was nice. not that i almost passed out hahaha

jak milo bylo wjechac rowerem az dfo samego punktu widokowego i uslyszec innych gratulujacych nam formy hahah jaka tam forma, prawie zemdlalam na podjezdzie :)

last couple of miles were a struggle. head wind+hills. when we arrived to kinloch rannoch we still cycled a bit further, to the loch. in that windy weather it reminded a sea rather than a loch..

ostatnie kilka kilometrow byly dosc ciezkie - pod wiatr i jeszcze gorki.

kiedy dojechalysmy do kinloch rannoch nie zatrzymalysmy sie we wiosce tylko podjechalysmy nieco dalej, do jeziora. przy tej pogodzie to raczej wgladalo jak morze
