dancing beams visible with naked eye, in green, purple and red.

i have no words to describe how it made me feel to see the lights and in such extreme activity. i only wish i could take pics good enough to make justice to that incredible show....

just imagine how strong it must have been -these photos are taken with full moon shining...

BALNAKEIL BAY

as i mentioned in previous post, we didnt manage to cross to cape wrath :( too bad! 

so we moved to next point on out trip plan. pitched the tent at durness campsite and jumped back into the car, drove 2 miles to balnakeil. 

i guess balnakeil bay is as famous as sandwood bay, i always thought that they're overrated.. well, they're not. they're both amazing (as are many little, nameless places in north-west scotland) 

balnakeil bay and its little peninsula, great place especially in low tide. could easily spend there at least 3 hrs

the place is fantastic and it must be extremely windy as a standard because the dunes and sand-drifts we saw there were spectacular. at one point it turned to be a proper desert with sand being blown into our eyes, ears etc, quite an experience :)

jak wspomnialam poprzednio, nie udalo nam sie poplynac na cape wrath, no szkoda!

tak wiec przeszlysmy do nastepnego punktu na liscie wycieczkowej. po rozbiciu namiotu na kampingu w durness wskoczylysmy zaraz spowrotem w samochod i podjechalysmy 2mile do balnakeil. 

zdaje sie ze zatoka balnakeil jest tak sano slynna jak zatoka sandwood, mi sie zawsze wydawalo ze obie sa 'przereklamowane', ale nie - nie sa. w rzeczywistosci sa fantastyczne (tak jak wiele innych, bezimiennych malutkich miejsc w polnocno-zachodniej szkocji)

zatoka balnakeil i malutki polwysep sa naprawde fajnym miejscem na spacer, szczegolnie podczas odplywu. mozna tam z latwoscia spedzic 3 godz

miejsce jest przepiekne, ale musi tu byc wciaz niezle wietrznie gdyz wydmy i piaskowe 'zaspy' jakie tu zobaczylysmy naprawde robily wrazenie. w pewnym momencie w sumie wkroczylysmy na piaskowa pustynie, wszystko jak trzeba- piasek wiejacy w oczy itd
