short, evening visit to fort augustus. the town is situated at the foot of loch ness and i must admit, i really liked this place. it had a nice, relaxed atmosphere and to cut it short - it's very picturesque.

one of the pubs in the village, the fiddler's. fantastic great choice of whisky, food looked really good too

also in walking distance from the village (1hr) urquhart castle (£8 / £6.40) such a shame that low fence at the end of car park is not secured and i've seen ppl getting in for free.. while I paid..

rowniez w okolicy, 1 godz spaceru zamek urquhart (£8 / £6.40) szkoda ze ten niski plot na koncu parkingu nie jest zabezpieczony i widzialam ze ludzie dostawali sie na teren zamku za friko. ja zaplacilam..

URQUHART CASTLE, drumnadrochit, LOCH NESS

actually main attraction in drumnadrochit. urquhart castle is just a longish walk away from the village (about 1 hr) there is a pavement and a path along the road. i guess that the castle really benefits from the fact that there is nothing else to do when visiting the village.. maybe apart from visiting nessie visitor centre and the fiddler's pub (recommended)   :)

if, like us, you would love to take a boat back to the village, i have to disappoint you, the boat only sails to the hotel which is 5 miles past drumnadrochit :(

is it worth the money? well, i guess there is nothing better to do really..

w sumie glowna atrakcja drumnadrochit jest zamek urquhart. znajduje sie w odleglosci godzinnego spaceru od wioski (jest chodnik i sciezka). mysle ze zamek duzo zyskuje przez to ze jest jedyna atrakcja w drumnadrochit, w sumie nie ma tu nic innego moze poza muzeum nessie i pubem the fiddler's (ten warty polecenia)

jesli, tak jak my, chcielibyscie wrocic do wioski stateczkiem ktory regularnie plywa po loch ness to niestety musze was zawiesc - stateczek plywa nie do wioski ale do hotelu znajdujacego sie 5 mil dalej..

czy zamek jest wart tej kasy? coz, jesli jestescie w drumnadrochit to i tak nie macie nic lepszego do roboty..
