well, original plan was to go up north to outer hebrides (lewis, harris and pals) but the forecast was hurricane winds (at it came true..) therefore we gave up the idea of going there with our tent. then we thought about visiting amsterdam, but due to volcanic eruption in iceland we gave up this idea as well. lastly and spontaniously we decided to go south to seek better weather than in scotland and to see something different, like proper tourists. we planned 4 days trip, visiting bamburgh castle, staithess, whitby, robin hood's bay, york, area of harrogate and yorkshire dales. weather was so-so, but we managed to stay dry (mostly, waterproof trousers are walker's best friends). actually we managed to see even more than we planned, which was really good. corsa was all right too, managing up the roads with 20-25% ascent angle (plenty of them in the dales)
so, first of all - bamburgh castle. nice wee place, definitely worth visiting, especially when visiting holy island of lindisfarne (which is only few miles away). basicaly the castle was build on the long sandy beach (just at the beach), on a nice sunny day i believe it's easy to spend there many hours just out and about.
