jak pamietacie, z powodu okolicznosci przyrody, pieknych i niepowtarzalnych i przede wszystkim wietrznych, nie zdecydowalysmy sie na wspinaczke na ben more, pojechalysmy do fionnphort by stamtad wziac prom na wyspe ione. obeszlysmy polnocna polowe iony, weszlysmy takze na jej najwyzsze wzgorze - dun 1 (101mnpm). wieczorem niestety wiatr nie zelzal i mialysmy maly problem ze znalezieniem dosc spokojnego miejsca do rozlozenia namiotu (kamping w fionnphort jest calkowicie nie osloniety, tuz nad brzegiem morza, nie dalo rady rozlozyc namiotu - wszystko latalo), po krotkiej przejazdzce rozlozylysmy sie 'na dziko' w zatoce przy wiosce uisken. niestety ostatecznie wiart zmienil kierunek i ... bea spala w samochodzie a ja mialam dla siebie latajacy namiot. przyznam jednak, ze niebo noca bylo tak gwiezdziste, ze poswiecilam chwile snu na podziwianie nocnych widokow..

isle of mull, day 1, continuation - IONA

as you remember, due to high winds we decided to postpone walking ben more and took direction to fionnphort, to take a ferry to iona. we walked iona's north half, also walked iona's highest point -dun 1 (101m) . in the evening we had another 'windy' problem, didn't manage to fix the tent on the fionnphort campsite (was too windy, everything was flying around) therefore after short research and wee journey, we decided to camp on the beach at uisken. at first it was ok, but then the wind changed direction and, eventually bea slept in the car and i had the flying tent to myself. what i also have to say is that the night sky over uisken bay was lightened with at least million stars, i gave up wee while of my sleep time to admire it.

z lewej - iona abbey - jedna z pierwszych swiatyn w uk. iona jest centrum kultu chrzescijanskiego, to stad sw kolumba zaczal nawracac owczesnych szkotow i irlandczykow

on the left - iona abbey, one of uk's oldest abbeys, in the past -center of christianity in uk. it's iona where st columba landed and from here the christianity spread.

generally speaking what you can find on iona is: awesome beaches, fresh green grass, few houses, wee golf course and the abbey. that's it.
