.
this time we bagged ben venue (729m / 2392ft) which is beautifully located in the loch lomond & the trossachs national park. well, it's not a munro but still worth going to lovely, wee, steep mountain. the way to the summit is getting steep right after you leave the car park and it eases at times but not for long.
we were really lucky with the weather (again!) lovely summer day with lots of hot sunshine so we were quite happy to discover that the path partly goes thru the forest at the start- lovely, shady spruce forest :) after you leave the forest the path leads thru boggy moorland and great fields of blueberry bushes, yummy! (that's where flying ants tried to eat us alive... and were half successful). if you're lucky enough to survive that then it's only another hour or so to the summit. actually two summits, ben venue has 2 twin summits and for some reason everybody goes to the lower one and noone climbs the 'real' summit... we did both :)
szlak zaczyna sie z nad loch achray / the path starts at the car park at loch achray
ben a'an
ben ledi
that's where the boggy moorland starts and millions of flying ants discover that their lunch just arrived
